Carimañolas (Recipe Swap)

Today is Digital Scrapbooking Day, but also is Panama Independence Day, so I want to share a very traditional dish for us.
We usually ate them as breakfast or a light dinner, but these are great apetizers too.

My favorite layout...

Now that I quit all my CTs I have more time and creativity to do the things in the way I want. And recently did this LO for the SUAS contest and even when is not Winning material I'm totally in love with it. I just print it huuuge (well not so huege, just 11x14) and also made some tiles that look pretty cool

I'm scrapping for UNICEF

"Unite for children, unite against AIDS" is a project of UNICEF that I choose to support with the Queen of the Crop Contest. If I win the first prize $500 will be donated to this cause.

World leaders, from both industrialized and developing countries, have repeatedly made commitments to step up their efforts to fight the spread of HIV/AIDS. They are beginning to increase the political leadership and the resources needed to fight the disease. Significant progress is being made in charting the past and future course of the pandemic, in providing free antiretroviral treatment to those who need it, and in expanding the coverage of prevention services. But children are still missing out.

Every day:
- There are nearly 1,800 new HIV infections in children under 15, mostly from mother-to-child transmission
- 1,400 children under 15 die of AIDS-related illness
- More than 6,000 young people aged 15–24 are newly infected with HIV

After more than 20 years
- Less than 10 per cent of pregnant women are being offered services to prevent transmission of HIV to their infants
- Less than 10 per cent of the children who have been orphaned or made vulnerable by AIDS receive public support or services
- Less than one third of young women aged 15–24 in sub-Saharan Africa fully understand how to avoid the disease.

Millions of children, adolescents and young people in the path of the pandemic are at risk and in need of protection. AIDS is redefining the very meaning of childhood for millions, depriving children of many of their human rights – of the care, love and affection of their parents; of their teachers and other role models; of education and options for the future; of protection against exploitation and abuse.

The world must act now, urgently and decisively, to ensure that the next generation of children is AIDS-free.
----------
Even if you choose to not vote for me (of course I'll appreciate if you do...) but you are thinking to make a donation for a charity, consider this an an option. Donate HERE

We don't have any major plans, and since dh works till Wednesday I think to take advantage of ds new mini pool

Full credits HERE

For the Easter weekend we have to choices... go to Guatemala (road trip) or stay here and go to the beach. BTW there is a concert of Carlos Vives (colombian singer) this Saturday on la Costa del Sol and maybe we'll go... but is not for sure...

From my blog to yours...

This is a great tittle for this sharing questions at SSD. Feel free to add them in your blog too.

1. If you could witness one supernatural event–whether you believe in the supernatural or not–what would it be? Why?
Ohhh I’d love to see an angel. I’ll be scare as hell, but I really love to know if they are real.

2. What is your earliest memory? Why do you think you have remembered that particular event or thing. I don’t know if is really the earliest, memory I have but I remember been on my grandma’s house (I should be 2 or 3 yo) ready to go to sleep and I ask her for juice. Then I was drinking my bottle (half sleep) thinking “this juice taste weird” and ask grandma “Mommy this is juice or milk” (since I’m lactose intolerant soy milk taste yucky for me) she said was juice then I sit and say “no mommy this is milk… I want peach juice”… LOL I think my yuckiness to milk haven’t change all this years and that’s why I remember that.

3. Pick a friend or acquaintance with whom you think you would like to start a new business venture. What business? I can go thru a business with dh Victor any day, any time (we have done it before). We are a great team. He is good having ideas and with administration skill and I’m great making his ideas come true (I’m a performer). We made a magazine once, and I’ll love to make a catering or party organization business… maybe something about PR… don’t know!

Home is where the heart is...

Even when will be 3 years in May since I move to El Salvador (dh's business), is very hard for me stop thinking Panama as my home... Is soo different. Ppl are nice, but I have no friends... the city is growing, but I haven't find much to do... Plus all my family and friends are still in Panama. You could say that El Salvador is like Panama 20 year ago (or maybe 30??)

I miss my home deeply... This LO is a sampler of the place where my heart is...

Readers Questionnaire

Since I looove to read, this questionnaire seems very suitable with my personality… hehehe

Amazon or brick and mortar? We don’t have any of those down here but when I’m on USA I like to buy at Barnes and Noble. But to be honest I can buy books wherever I found them

Bookmark or dog ear? I know is destructive, but Dog ear, I always lost my bookmarks

Alphabetize by author or alphabetize by title or random? Neither, my books simply hag around the house… LOL

Keep, throw away, or sell? Keep them, but when I move to El Salvador gave away all my books (too heavy) to my cousin… sniff sniff… I still miss them

Keep dust jacket or toss it? Keep
Read with dust jacket or remove it? Remove it

Short story or novel? Novels.
Harry Potter or Lemony Snicket? Harry Potter… and who is Lemony Snicket?

Stop reading when tired or at chapter breaks? I try to take breaks at the end of a chapter, but usually is just at the end of a page.

“It was a dark and stormy night” or “Once upon a time”? Both

Buy or Borrow? Buy. I love to read the same book again and again.
New or used? Most likely new, but I’m not opposed to “used”.

Buying choice: book reviews, recommendation or browse? Actually Is a mix of I love the cover and the title plus checking the book review

Tidy ending or cliffhanger? Tidy ending (usually) but I love series like Harry Potter so maybe a little cliffhanging in the hope of a tide ending sometime.

Morning reading, afternoon reading or nighttime reading? I can read all the time

Stand-alone or series? I do either.
Favorite series? Probably Harry Potter.

Favorite children’s book? I’m traditional… I can read any story by Hand Christiam Andersen.
Favorite book of which nobody else has heard? “Si Eva hubiera sido Adan” by Daniel Samper Pizano. Most ppl who read it is because I point them to the book.
Favorite books of all time? Harry Potter fan over here. My fav was the Prisioner of Azcaban (the movie sucks)

What are you reading right now? “Tras la tumba de Alejandro”. Is about and archeologist looking for Alexander the great tomb.

Pop Weekly updates!

This is a cut out from Pop Weekly magazine (more info check HERE)

Full Credits HERE

(English version) Who said water can’t be HOT??? The mystery is solved ladies and gentleman. The reason for the un-air of the pilot of Aquaman after a very good feedback of the iTunes views has nothing to do with money as the network want us to believe, but a sex scandal.
Apparently the yummy (and married) actor Justin Hartley is currently engage on a very physical relationship with a mysterious actress who was originally casted for the pilot. Pop weekly rescue some very incriminatory pictures of the illicit couple, even at the set of Smallville, where Justin was a guest actor on the rol of Green Arrow. Rumor has it that the actress is quite a doll…

My plans for the weekend...

First of all I'm planning to use the Valentines Gift from DH...

Well... of course I'll love to have Ricky Martin in a box wearing only a red bow, but... let's go to next best thing... LOL!!!

I have tickets for Ricky Martin's concert here in El Salvador this Friday 23rd... 9pm Central Time... 9th row... and I'm not missing it for anything on the world and I'll turn totally wild!!!

For those who are pointin that he probabbly is 99% gay... I have to tell you that I don't care!!! Gay or not I don't have a chance with him... so if I can fatasize of having him shaking his bom bom on my face, can fantasize that he is straight too... LOL!!!

Saturday and Sunday I'll drop my insane groupy and will be back to my usual mom and wife roll... LOL
DH and I have plans to check some houses to hopefully find something near to our dream house but in the limits of our budget to buy it.

And if the weather is nice enough we should go to the pool on Sunday. That's the best way to keep my lil Taz busy and tired him fast... hehehehe

Another Special Hobby

You maybe think my life runs around scrapping... well I do... LOL but also have an all time hobbie: COOKING!! And to kick it up a notch (as Emeril will say) I'm starting an herb garden.

I'm so tired to buy herbs at the grocery store and then see how they gone bad in a flash inside the fridge. So why not having them at home and harvest them fresh... But after the semi disaster of the Basil and Parsley plants last year... I decided to trust the replanting to the gardener.... LOL

So far they are looking good... Also bought some daysies to put some color in the garden... Let's see how it goes...

You’re a Bold Boot!

You’ve got an enviable edge about you, much like this fearless form of footwear. Sturdy and stylish enough to go kicking around town, yet still able to lasso in stares when dressed up, you have an intrepid quality that is complemented by your undeniable charisma and fun-loving energy. You’re also not afraid to walk on the wild side, which shows that your bond with the boot is all stitched up.

Feeling less PINK

Well, things are getting better. Marc's allergy is gone and finally I took a whole hour to myself (long shower, wax legs, lots of batha and Body Works stuff...)

On the bright side... even when I can't drink because of the medicines, my friend Lena have this "drink" on her blog, so I had to make my own... hehehe

If OrianaVianey were a drink they would be:

1 parts kindness
4 parts reckless
1 parts flashy

I'm feeling PINK

I always though that the expression "I'm feeling blue" was a curious way to describe when someone is sad... But I'm changing that...
I use this for Stop 4 at the Amazing Digi Scrapping Race

Kaos!!!

These couple of day have been truly awfull...
Baby Marc is sick and this is the very first time he has been ill for so long. It start like a regular cold, but he was feeling worst and the congestionated nose is gaving him a hard time to sleep...
Yesterday, like 2 am, he woke up crying and touching his ears and nothing stop the screaming, so I took him to the ER. The doctor on cold say "ear infection" and gave us some antibiotics and cataflam drops plus the medicine he was already tooking (by our regular doctor)...
Between one thing and another I went to sleep like 7 am when the nanny came home. So I stay asleep until noon. When I woke up I say a very bad allergy in his skinn... Wow... go to the doctor again (our head doctor this time). Apparently there was no ear infection and Marc is allergic to cataflam... so... changing medicines again...
I'm exhausted... I've been scrapping because is the only thing that keep me relax...
I need to do 8 more layouts today... but I'll better go to bed, because I'm running out of inspiration...
